The studio here at popGumbo has a seldom used time machine gathering dust in the corner.

When I thought of all the poor kids at the Silicon Valley start-ups playing ping pong and surfing ThinkGeek for their latest office party game, I felt like quite the ingrate.

Here I was, trying to create the next big Celebrity Plastic Hair Transplant video game while sitting right beside me was Doc Browns time traveling wonder.

Well, I fired that baby up, jammed the old GameBoy into my pocket, and punched in October 21st, 1989.

Porting the 2014 Objective-C code was a little more daunting than I expected and I never did get it quite right. (Youll notice Mumbles sometimes lags and misses popping balloons.)

But I dont think it came out half bad.

Not good enough to charge .99 for, so I plugged in Apples iAd network.
